![]() ![]() But I didn’t think those made that big a difference. ![]() I can see some things making Remastered easier, like how it’s easier to see things and the better aiming controls. I’m surprised to see the big difference in score. The original Metroid Prime was all the way at 34.72, a big difference. That’s 120th out of 189, 36th percentile. Metroid Prime Remastered got a 8.90 compared to an average of 24.20 and a median of 15.08. Final Boss Phase 2 /v2CgQuEZwd- Romojr50_Video June 7, 2023 Shout out to the Wave Beam which I was underwhelmed by in the OG but looked a lot better in the Remaster. It contributed to a great experience exploring Tallon IV again. Fauna, ruins, and machinery all appear in better detail. The enemies are easier to see in all their alien, gruesome details. Better graphics help bring the world out more. I spoke about the atmosphere of the OG in 2018. This also includes details that can be easy to miss. The Remaster’s sharper graphics made it easier to see. For one, the OG is a bit too dark at times. I don’t usually focus too much on graphics but this was a case where they made a difference for me. In general, respawning enemies that are a time consuming pain to deal with are an annoyance and add to the backtracking woes. There’s also Sheegoths in Phendrana that are pretty tanky. They spawn all over the Chozo Ruins at a certain point and they respawn indefinitely. I mentioned Chozo Ghosts in the 2018 post and I think they’re worth repeating here. As it was, I was going through some areas I hadn’t been to in a while with a bunch of new powers to explore with. I knew it was coming though so maybe if I had been constantly backtracking on the way I would’ve been more annoyed. I had five artifacts this time so that’s still quite a few to find. ![]() You can find some as you progress but I think most people have to go on a tour of the world after beating the Omega Pirate, the last boss in the last area before the endgame. In particular, in order to unlock the final area, the Impact Crater, you need to find 12 Chozo Artifacts scattered throughout Tallon IV. It’s a factor in every Metroid but the recent resurgence of attention for Prime has brought the topic back. Starting with a controversial topic: backtracking.
